The DC Morgan Dressage Happy Tongue Bit is legal for dressage in Australia, and is also an excellent bit for fox-hunting,eventing or training. It combines tongue relief and poll pressure, which encourages acceptance of the bit. The horse is encouraged to put its head down and inwards, when the bit is applied.
The Extra-Large size 135mm is suitable for many hunters or eventers (which are extra-large compared to our polo pony sizing).
The cheekpiece of the DC Morgan Dressage Happy Tongue bit was designed to remove as many pressures as possible, creating a safe comfortable communication. The key feature of the cheekpiece is the loose ring which attaches to the bridle, which can also rotate, ensuring the poll and cheek area is relieved from any rein engagement. The reins are optionally attached to the large dee, which swings open independently of the cheekpiece; or the small rein loop towards the bottom of the Dee, which will some leveraging of the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is fixed to the cheekpiece, with a solid surface area to encourage flexion.
The DC Morgan Dressage Happy Tongue bit has a solid mouth bit which is ported to relieve tongue pressure but is not curved. This makes it slightly harsher than the curved Happy Tongue.
The DC Morgan Dressage Happy Tongue bit has a straight mouthpiece that swivels against the cheekpieces.
The swivel mouthpiece can rotate on the horizontal, allowing the cheek piece to move independently, thereby the horse can set where it finds the mouthpiece most comfortable, removing tongue pressure and encouraging acceptance of the bit.
The DC Dressage Happy Tongue Straight Swivel is FEI, BD and EA legal.
