Bomber recommends the Control Plate TBar Polo Gag Bit for the horse with a high head carriage particularly if it has been ridden in a single break snaffle. A control plate bit can be used to determine if the horse will accept tongue pressure or if it is tongue sensitive.
The Bomber Control Plate TBar Polo Gag bit is an alternative to the classic polo snaffle, and can be more effective in many instances, with smoother pressure.
The Bomber Control Plate is set at 45° to follow the contour of the horses tongue. The plate sits flat on the tongue offering a kind pressure on the tongue which will bring the head in and encourage the horse to accept the bit.
For broken bits such as the Bomber Control Plate TBar Polo Gag bit, add 10mm to a straight mouth measurement (e.g. a medium-sized horse with a 125mm mouth would use a 135mm control plate bit).
