The Loose Ring Tube Control Plate Bit is recommended for the horse with a high head carriage particularly if it has been ridden in a single break snaffle. The Loose Ring Tube Control Plate Bit is a great polocrosse bit or for training young horses.
The mouthpiece of the Loose Ring Tube Control Plate Bit sits flat on the tongue offering a kind pressure on the tongue which will bring the head in.
Sizing Note: Be sure this bit faces with the flat side against the tongue. For broken bits such as the control plate, add 10mm to a straight mouth measurement (e.g. a medium-sized horse with a mouth width that measures 125mm mouth would use a 135mm control plate bit).
The Loose Ring Tube Control Plate cheekpiece allows for immediate release and relief from tongue and bar pressure. The bit is immediately reset to a neutral position in the horse’s mouth. The tube variation prevents pinching in the horse's mouth, encouraging acceptance of the bit.
