3 Ring Gag TBar Control Plate Bit

Title

Bomber recommends the 3 Ring Gag TBar Control Plate for the horse with a high head carriage particularly if it has been ridden in a single break snaffle. The control plate can be used to determine if the horse will accept tongue pressure or if it is tongue sensitive. The 3 Ring Gag TBar Control Plate is a similar design to the Myler bit, baucher bit and French link bit.

It is suitable for polo and polocrosse.

The mouthpiece of the 3 Ring Gag TBar Control Plate is set at 45° to follow the contour of the horses tongue. The plate sits flat on the tongue offering a kind pressure on the tongue which will bring the head in.

Note: Be sure this bit faces with the flat side against the tongue. For broken bits such as the control plate, add 10mm to a straight mouth measurement (e.g. a small-sized horse with a mouth width that measures 115mm mouth would use a 125mm control plate bit).

The T-Bar was developed by Bomber for polo and polocrosse, it will have the same effect as the traditional Fulmer in that it will prevent pinching on the sides of the mouth however the shortened and extended pins above and below the bit prevent the bit firstly being pulled through the mouth and secondly has the effect of guiding the horses head into the direction the bit is facing which is great for schooling and training purposes.

The sweet blue iron mouthpiece will oxidise to a brown colour over time, as it encourages salivation and acceptance of the bit.
